Privacy policy

A static site with nothing to sign up for
Margot Vey Online is made of static pages. There are no user accounts, no login, no newsletter form and no comment section, so we never ask for your name, your email address or anything else about you. If you choose to write to us, we only see what you put in your email, and we use it solely to reply.
No analytics, no ad trackers
We do not run analytics tools, advertising networks, tracking pixels or social media widgets. No third party script on these pages follows you from one site to the next, and we do not build profiles of visitors. We do not know which pages you read, and we have chosen not to find out.
Hosting logs
Like any website, ours runs on a hosting provider, and that provider keeps standard technical logs: for example the IP address of a request, the time, the page requested and the browser type. These logs exist for security and to keep the service running. We do not use them to identify or follow visitors.
One value in local storage
When you are about to leave, the site may show a short popup. To avoid showing it every time, your browser stores one value in its local storage, recording when the popup was last displayed, so it appears at most once every few days. That value stays on your device, is not sent to us and holds no personal information. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Affiliate links
Some links point to Candy and include a referral code, so that the destination site knows the visit came from us. Once you follow such a link, you are on another site, and its own privacy policy applies to whatever you do there, including any account you create. We receive no personal data from that site about you. How the links fit into the way we work is explained on about these notes.
Contact
For any privacy question, write to [email protected] and we will answer as clearly as we can. If this policy changes, the new version will replace this page, which is the only place where updates will appear since we keep no contact list.
